Fingers, tongue was found in a bottle in the Forest Preserve turned out to be fake

What looks like human fingers and tongue were found in a bottle in the neighborhood of old Edgebrook forest preserve by two guys who are playing a game treasure hunt which turned out to be bogus, authorities said.

The bottle was found about 3 weeks in India preserving forest road in the North Central Avenue, 6100 block and turned in the Cook County Sheriff’s police, according to a spokesman from the forest preserve district of Cook County Michael Murnane.

Police opened an investigation and contact the Cook County medical examiner’s Office, Murnane said.

“The rest” seems to be at least one finger and tongue in the bottle, according to a spokesman for the medical examiner’s Office. They have been examined today and was determined to be “non-biological,” according to the spokesman.

Murnane said a group of children had left the stuff for someone to find it as part of the game geocaching. But a woman who found a bottle with his girlfriend said while those participating treasure hunt game–where GPS is used to search for hidden items are known–no geocaches jar part of the game. “
